Birthday night out

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jul. 31, 2006 - 13:14:31

Hello my lovelies, sorry I havent updated since my night out! I was so hungover the next day, and the day after, and I'm so tired right now. And I'm not looking forward to going to the hospital for Pre-op No. 3 and having yet another blood test. I already know the questions off by heart. Smoking? No. Family disorders? No. Bring a urine sample with you? Eugh, no. And a conversation that goes more or less like this:

Nurse: "Oook you're 7st 4lbs and just about 5'."
Me: "Errr no actually I'm 5'2''."
Nurse: "No you're just under 5'1''."
Me: "Hmm. Well it doesnt matter anyway."

Anyways, back to the night out! Oh My God! We went to a hip hop club cos they offered us free shots cos I had my birthday badge on. Incredibly shit music, but nicely decorated place! We danced on a stage and I used my bottle (I have no idea what I was drinking, come to think of it :-/) as a microphone! What else did we do... ah, yes. Connie ordered the wrong drink and we ended up drinking a jug of redbull and vodka...nice!! We also had lovely shots and obviously I had to spill one down my face. Oooh and I had my first cosmopolitan cocktail! It's really tasty; and then I filled up our glasses with watermelon bacardi cos it's also red so it still looked pretty. Oh and the bar woman gave me the wrong change! I told her I gave her £10 and she said I'd given her £5. I was like "I'm not drunk, you cant take money off me like that!". But of course I was drunk, and probably did give her £5, but the girls stood up for me! Until the woman threatened to bar us that is. Hehe. :b

I'd write a lot more about it but to be honest I cant remember much else, other than it was a good night and ooh I love the Blondie t-shirt Connie got me! Sexy!!

Today's song is up to you guys, feel free to suggest any! :)

Ginger in the Morning

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jul. 28, 2006 - 15:55:50

I'm sitting here with my Ab Belt on, one of those christmas presents I ask for then only use when the mood strikes me. Other things include a laser hair removal pen, a body exfoliator and a telescope. The instructions on the box are: 1. put the belt on 2. switch on 3. relax and enjoy. Enjoy?!?!?! I dont know about you but I dont really get the thrills from being electrocuted in the belly!

I'm going out tonight! Stayed up until about 3am to make sure that I'd sleep a lot this morning so that I wont be tired tonight, but I woke up at 9:30am!!! Oh come on Sleep Fairy! I'm not even a little bit tired, maybe it's the excitment hehehe.

Unfortunately excitment leads you to do strange things, like dye your hair blonde. And unfortunately one's hair doesnt always turn out blonde, but ginger instead. And when one turns the tv on in the morning, the program that's on is called 'Ginger in the Morning'. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway, at least my hair didnt fall off!! I was worried that it might, after dying it with henna... Hurrah!! :>>

Quiet Spiritual Day, With Fudge

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jul. 26, 2006 - 21:47:00

So today I went to see the cathedral with my mom. We've been living in this city for like, forever, and we still hadnt seen its most famous cathedral!! It's pretty, but it doesnt look like a church. It looks like a nicely decorated hall, without a proper altar and a Jesus on a cross! Outrageous I say. Normally I feel very peaceful and calm when I'm in a church, but this one only made me feel a little bit spiritual. Anyway, my day hasnt been extremely exciting so here's a little quiz thingy to fill up the space:

WHATS YOUR CURRENT...
Mood: objectionable
Outfit: white Roxy t-shirt and jeans
Shoes: pink flip flops with shiny sequins
Hair style: pulled back with a purple hairband and a butterfly clip

LAST THING YOU...
Ate: fudge! haaaahahahaha!
Drank: water
Sang: Ever Fallen in Love by The Buzzcocks
Heard: myself screeching Ever Fallen in Love by The Buzzcocks

RANDOM QUESTIONS...
Do you collect anything? sugar packets from different places
Is your room forever messy? my room is never messy!
Whats one of your talents? writing songs, but I dont let people see them
Are you violent? I'm a pacifist man!
How many pushups can you do? about 3, then my muscles ache and I die
Do you read for fun? yep
Do you act your age? define acting my age...
Can you dance? no, but under the influence I must obviously think I can! Ooh and I can do the choreography from Jesus Christ Superstar!

Blackpool

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jul. 24, 2006 - 21:59:22

Hello dears,

I'm knackered. Me and Andy went to Blackpool today and it was a lovely day! I did warn him that I might not be much fun as I dont like gambling or the rides, but we still went! He spent the whole day trying to convince me to go on a rollercoaster but in the end we only went on a maze thing (which we found the exit to pretty quickly) and a pirate love boat thing, which I was still scared of cos it was a dingy little dark tunnel!! And as we were coming out Andy goes "Oh God this is the part where we get humiliated", as all the parents were waiting outside and we were the only people without a kid on that ride. Hahahaha. Ahhhh dont you just love Andy?! He loves me unconditionally, without a doubt.

Here's a few quotes from today:

"Did you get a word of that? I couldnt stop staring at her beard."

"You should call your band The Toy Machine Conspiracy!"

"I've lost the key!" (The locker key. Just to scare me. Even when we'd left the park. Meanie.)

"Tilt and pan. Tilt and pan. TILT AND PAN!!!!"

"Sombrero! I found a sombrero!!"

-"Oh my GOD my teeth look like a banana jelly! Hahaha dont you think? Look, bananas hahahaha."
-"Ahh. No."

"I'll read your palm... you're going to die. You were born. I'm going to drop your hand in 2 seconds."

-"Ahhh the smell of shit is following me, I bet it's on me. Can you see any shit on me?"
-"No!"
-"Look better!"
-"It's in the air, it's a different smell everytime!!!"

I'm sure there's more but I'm too tired from walking around all day. At least I must've burnt some of the calories from the cornish pastie, chips and apple pie. Yummmmm! :>>

Today's song is 'voodoo child' by the Rogue Traders.

Ah, shopping with my girls

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jul. 21, 2006 - 18:56:18

Hello everyone,

Me, my mom and my sister went to town together earlier for the first time in ages, and we had fun! Well except for when my sister decided to run and get the front seat, then I sat on her and my mom decided to go sit on the back leaving the driver's seat empty. And all along we were being watched by baffled people driving past!

Ok then Alex took forever in each shop she tried clothes on, it even gave me time to make a list of the top three things that make me feel suicidal.

1. Lectures about the history of South America
2. Statistics lectures
3. James Blunt's album, which was on whilst she tried clothes on

Anyway, we bought shoes, clothes, make up, creams, hair stuff... such a girly shopping trip! And I found it really adorable when my mom went "here's a tenner for each of you" before we went out hehehe. I blew mine on moisturiser and hair mousse, now there's a surprise!

Since I already have a song for today, I'll leave you with a quote I heard last night, coming from my dear sister, when I was getting changed for bed.

"Monica, you should really close your bedroom door sometimes."

I wasnt born to work

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jul. 21, 2006 - 10:55:54

Oh Jesus. I cant have one decent phone conversation about a job without screwing up just a little! Just phoned a sandwich shop and they asked if I had experience, and I said "not with food making, no". Clever. I also phoned a pharmacy and when she asked if I had experience I said "not yet", and she seemed to find it very amusing, and I just felt silly!! :|

Oh well, maybe my Fairy Godmother doesnt want me to work. I'd probably leave after a week anyway. Oh God I hope they phone me back. Please give me a job. :o

I had an extremely productive day yesteday. Watched Bridget Jones The Edge Of Reason, played with the dance mat, ate chocolate and watched more tv. Tonight I'm gonna have a little pampering session, might make another facial mask and use myself as a guinea pig!

Ok time to go. Today's song is 'wet blanket' by Metric. "Telling her what to think we are, you're the number one wet blanket."

MTV ruined my epiphany

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jul. 17, 2006 - 18:11:38

Oh no I've neglected my little blog for the past few days! Let's see, what have I been up to... Ah, yes! I cleaned my bedroom so it looks french shabby chic again! :D I'm still trying to decide whether to paint my wardrobe white or leave it as it is (natural pine). I've been told that it's perfect as it is, but being a girl and an interior designer lofty wannabe (:))), I'm always changing my bedroom and trying out different things, colours, etc etc.

Before you think I have the saddest little life, other things I've done in the past few days were trying on millions of perfumes to find one that I like, and the winner was Cinema by Yves Saint Laurent cos I could sniff it all day; planning to donate money to the Rajasthan water appeal as soon as I get a job; band scouting on the rock music channels; and having a spiritual epiphany! I tend to have them when I watch programs about Africa and/or see people in extreme poverty, but last night it happened as I was watching the interview with Kylie Minogue when she was talking about her cancer ordeal. This morning I woke up feeling happy about the world, and then watched MTV and felt like shaving my hair off, sunbathing and getting my nails done, so I completely agree with Jack Black when he says "It was called rock 'n' roll, but guess what, oh no, the Man ruined that too, with a little thing called MTV!". MTV is tv's George Bush. Must stop watching it. After Date My Mom.

Today's song is 'monster hospital' by Metric. I found them whilst band scouting on MTV2 which, unlike MTV, promotes a 'shit happens so get over it' attitude to kids rather than making them want to be like Barbie. Much healthier. :b

That's all!

Girls will be girls

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jul. 13, 2006 - 15:44:10

Hmmm thursday the 13th! I had to wake up early and wait for Andy's laptop to be delivered. Had to kick some ass yesterday cos either the bank or the company were being retarded...so it was here this morning, early and everything! :>

Pampering day again! I saw a kiwi in the fruit basket and decided to make a facial mask! Found lots of different recipes on the net but didnt have all the ingredients for them so decided to mix it up and make my own. So, girls and boys, here's my recipe:

Breakfast Facial Mask (I named it! :>>)

1 teaspoon of honey
1 kiwi
1/2 mug of oatmeal
1 egg white

Mix everything until it's a paste, put it on your face and neck and leave for 20 minutes. Warning: it's a bit hard to wash it off cos the egg and honey stick to your skin a bit! ;D I couldnt pick a kiwi seed off my neck and it was really starting to annoy me...then I realised it wasnt a seed...it was a little beauty spot.

Oh and thanks to my friend door15, I now know of a Nepalese food called Momo. Bet you havent got a food with your nickname?! HaHaHaHaHaHa!!! )-o

I'm gonna go give my mom a Breakfast Facial now, or maybe I'll wait until she's asleep. :)) Today's song is 'I just dont know what to do with myself' by The White Stripes.

Mom's Graduation

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jul. 12, 2006 - 17:45:24

It was my mom's graduation today, wooo! It's always been her dream and she's always said that one day she was gonna go to uni and get a degree, and she did. I'm very proud of her. Inspiration or what?! Actually, I'm still far too lazy to be like my mom.

I dont think I've been very good company today though. I might've looked a bit gloomy, fell asleep in the car on the way back and been a bit of an arse all day. I'm still a teen for the next 5 weeks though, so I'm blaming it on teenage angst and hormones and smells like teen spirit and stuff! When I'm 20 I'll have to find something else to blame it on. I'm sure the hamsters wont mind if I blame them, they cant speak to defend themselves! :>

"Mom! Bob like, totally verbally abused me and I'm so, like, not in the mood right now!!" or "Bella's fur is shinier than mine. OMG I'm gonna die!"

Today's song is 'to be free' by Emiliana Torrini.

It shouldn't hurt me to be free
It's what I really need
To pull myself together
But if it's so good being free
Would you mind telling me
Why I don't know what to do with myself

Pretty isnt it?

Sleepless in Momoland

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Jul. 11, 2006 - 22:18:17

Ok. When I'm upset or just unhappy for some reason, or if something's bothering me, I do whatever I can to change that because life's too short so the least time you spend sulking and being miserable the better. I also encourage my friends to do the same when they're not happy; mostly because I dont like seeing them upset, but also cos I run out of ideas on how to help and get bored of listenning to the same problem for too long. Just kidding!!! :b

But sometimes it takes more than just willingness to fix what's bothering you. And then what?! Being partly impatient and somewhat of a control freak, I dont like feeling helpless and like I cant change my own life. You can deal with it, adopt a 'shit happens' attitude and get over it and things will get better eventually. But that's just it...what if they dont? And in the meantime, what do we do to stop the sulking and the miserableness?

Today's song is 'just' by Radiohead.

High on las tapas

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jul. 10, 2006 - 20:54:25

Me and Andy went to a Spanish restaurant to celebrate him getting promoted! Very nice food, hmmmmm....very nice food. I tried to bring something for my mom cos every time we go there she comes back with a prop. Last time it was a skillet. She did ask the waitress if she could have it and the waitress just laughed as she probably thought my mom was joking, so my mom put it in her bag. Little tip for staff: believe your customers when they ask weird questions, or you might mysteriously end up with no utensils!

Here are a few quotes I've heard today:

"Unlike you, I cant fart on demand."

"I'll leave this top for bed only."
"Who with?!"
*random man on the bus turns around with a grin on his face*

"Rattle your ice."
"Rattle your lemons!"
"No, you rattle your melons to get her attention!"

"Have I got anything on my chin?"
"A full grown beard."

Yea, we had fun! Maybe next time we'll order 3 different desserts and one normal dish instead though, they're yummy. :>>

Yeehaa!

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Jul. 09, 2006 - 14:40:14

Right then, where to start?! Last night was good fun. In a nutshell I drank a lot, danced a lot, had a lot of cheesy chat up lines and got home when the sun was rising and had to cover up my head with the quilt cos it was too bright to sleep! :zz: But I'm giving details! Hahaha! Ok so we went to this place and had a drink, then went to another place and I had 4 shots (one for each exam I passed), but then ended up going back for 2 more and spilt one of them down my face and hair because I missed my mouth. It had butterscotch in, I was sticky all night. :o So then we went to another place and had another little drinkie (and a guy who looked just like Colin Farrell asked us where was the best place to go cos he's not from here, to which we replied "this is it!" :))), and then we went somewhere else, and finally went to the last place and stayed there for the rest of the night. Now! The chat up line awards go to...

"Have YOU got a license? Because you're so beautiful it's illegal." 8|

"You're gorgeous, come in and here's my wristband *puts invisible wristband on my wrist* because you're so pretty." :o

Did these people mix as many drinks as I did or was it me who heard them say that in my head?!!

So, to continue... a member of staff in the last club took our picture and asked if he could put it up on the wall, and we said yea! This morning we realised that the way he said it he might've meant making a big print of it and sticking it on the wall cos they're redecorating, so that'll be fun to watch out for in the near future! I just hope I look nice in that picture, it was taken about 2am!!! :|

Ok I'm having a sudden moment of amnesia and the next thing I remember is being in my bed at 5am, so I'll leave it at that! Oh, just a few quotes:

"Bad Monica, that's naughty!"

"Get away from the fire exit!!" :))

Bouncer: Bye little one.
Me: I'm not little!
Bouncer: You're not big either are you?

:lalala:

Pampered on a rainy day

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Jul. 08, 2006 - 15:43:50

What a lovely day! The weather is crap of course; I'm going out tonight and it has to rain everytime I go out. I woke up when I felt like it (no alarm, hurrah!) and pampered myself a bit! Had a little sunbathing section, did my nails, had a long shower, put on a lovely lotion and I'm gonna do my hair later. I never know whether to have my hair straight or leave it curly when I go out cos if it's straight, it goes puffy and it just doesnt look good after you've been dancing for a while... and if it's curly it goes curlier with the heat but my side fringe goes soggy and that doesnt look good either. It's all about making decisions eh?! It's not easy being a girl! ;)

Yesterday when my mom was trying on clothes I decided to try on a pair of hotpants for amusement, and I was right - it did make me laugh! Then I put my boots back on and it looked even better! I looked like I belonged in a safari as a tour guide. So if you hear someone laughing in the changing rooms, it's probably me trying on inappropriate clothes just for fun!

I'm not sure what today's song is, I'll have one for tomorrow when I tell you all the goss from tonight's shenanigans!

Backless top and cinnamon whirls

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jul. 07, 2006 - 14:14:01

Hurrah I finally found a backless top that shows my tattoo!! Been looking for one since I got the tattoo done, cos it's a bit further up than I thought and you cant see it when I bend down, dammit. But anyway, I think in my case it's probably sexier this way, it's quite dinky.

I forgot to mention something that happened yesterday! When I was in Boots trying to find a nice powder Andy accidently knocked a pot of eyeshadow on his trousers, and they were all brown and shiny! He started saying "Monica go, just go, there's make up in other shops, go", and I was like "it's ok just wipe it and it'll come off", and he said "I'm walking around with half their make up on my trousers, just go!". Hahahaha. So cute! Turns out it didnt come off when he wiped it, it just spread around even more. I think he hates make up even more now. It's one thing when someone spends ages in the morning with the make up and you get pissed off at it, but another thing when it physically attacks you!! Naughty make up!

So yea, I went shopping with my mom, had sushi and a cinnamon whirl and now I'm all happy and stuff! Today's song is 'its dangerous business walking out your front door'  by Underoath. Graah!

Awww raccoon and I'm too old

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jul. 06, 2006 - 21:38:41

Lalalala I went to see a kiddie's film and I found it rather amusing! Hehe we saw 'over the hedge', it's so cute! And I'm putting 'raccoon' on my birthday list.

After the film Andy took me for a meal to celebrate passing this year at uni (and to treat himself for the weekly statistics crap he helped me do, if it wasnt for him and Rachel I would've been really screwed!). Even though there were times I just wanted to stick my essays up their arses, I stuck it out and now I'm onto my next goal - keep going. Being a student is much easier than being a grown up, tee hee!

When we were in town this woman asked if I'd like to be in a new talent show, as a judge!! They wanna form a new band and they're gonna have 5 girl judges so she asked me to bring 4 other friends to the audition, which is tomorrow. OMG how cool is that! Me on tv!! My chance to do something fun and give up my goal in favour of money and fame mwahahahahaaaaa!!! Anyway, only problem is that you've gotta be 16-19 and I'm the youngest amongst my mates, so the girlies are all 20 already. Ah well, I'm sure there'll be another, even better, opportunity sometime in the future! Nothing I can do about my age, but I'll be kicking myself when I watch the program on tv and think "that could've been me". Grrrr.

That's all kids, today's song is 'gold lion' by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, sorry to repeat a song but it's suitable for today, as I feel like jumping out of a bridge; but with a parachute so it's still dramatic but I wont die of course! Pff.

raccoon -->Hi! Give me to Mon for her birthday, please.

Bleh mean people

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jul. 05, 2006 - 21:26:02

Portugal's playing but once again I'm not watching properly, it gets on my nerves when you see something wrong yet no one does anything about it. That's also the reason I like dogs more than I like a lot of people, at least they remain loyal to the one who feeds them and bark at the mean people. People, on the other hand, just act blind to such acts of meanness and pretend everything's peachy. Bastards. Ok I'm not sure what I'm on about, but I do have a point, which I cant quite put my finger on but the moral of the story is: referees should all be tickled for torture.

I've thought of a song for today, it's 'I try' by Macy Gray.

The Who vs Cinema night

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jul. 05, 2006 - 16:33:35

Ahhh wednesday, not a very fun day.

Andy phoned me and said his mate asked him to go and see The Who tonight, and he was kicking himself that he said no. The Who are one of his favourite bands so I asked him why he didnt wanna go! He said it was because he'd already made plans with me...  Need I say anything else? That's the kinda guy you want to marry girls. Before you think "God Monica you're evil", I told him to go and that we can do cinema wednesday next week and we can celebrate passing my exams another time. This is a great opportunity and even though he feels bad about cancelling on me, I really want him to go and enjoy himself!

I'll think of a song for today and come back later.

Feels like summer

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Jul. 04, 2006 - 21:04:00

Sun, beach, bikini, sun lotion, the smell of the sea, ice cream, chilly drinks mmmmm...today it feels like summer!  I'm definitely a summer girl, love the smell of sun lotion and the beach, it's all coconuty and lovely! And the sun makes any hair look shiny and gives you a better appearance, as opposed to winter psycho hair and running make up due to the horrible rain. I was watching GMTV this morning and they were telling everyone to cover up every bit of skin!?!?!  A little bit of sun is good for you and it wont bite, just put some lotion on before leaving the house. Tisk.

So that's pretty much all I've done today! Helped mom take some folders back to college, saw people's face's brighten up when she told them they'd passed, listenned to summery songs and went to the beach! I wish the sea was good enough to swim but unfortunately it's unsafe and it just looks like sewage. I liked the beaches in Cornwall, shame it's about 7 hours drive from here! And also Brazil, which is slightly further away and a little more expensive for travel costs.

Anyway enough nonsense, today's song is 'somewhere over the rainbow' by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, mmmm summer.

I passed I passed!

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jul. 03, 2006 - 17:56:58

Duuuuuuude, I passed all my exams!! Even statistics!!!! 88| You'll never have to hear me whining about stats again, hurrah!!! If I hadnt passed it first time round, I never would have. Seriously, I did maths key skills like 3 times and I didnt pass once. But anyway! I'm sooo relieved. I wasnt expecting to fail to be honest (except for stats), and I mean this in the most humble way, because I did work my little socks off and I would've been gutted if it had all been in vain. See, I dont like things that take too much effort, so when I do make some effort, I want it to be useful, not just wasted energy. And tonight I will be thanking the good forces who helped me pass statistics, God heard my cry for help in the exam, surely. :))

Well like I said on one of my posts when I was revising for the exams, I put in all the hard work and now I will be celebrating! I'm thinking films on wednesday and a well deserved night out at the weekend, which will also be a countdown to my birthday, which is in 6 weeks. Yay 6 weeks! :>>

Today's song is 'a ultima mentira' by Aditive, a brazilian band. You can find them on myspace! ;D

Just a quickie

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Jul. 01, 2006 - 19:32:01

Just a quick note to say that I'm thrilled Portugal won. Everyone wants their country to win (except my sister, she's rooting for Brazil - but then again she cant stand losing!) and this time mine did so I'm really happy! And the part that makes me the happiest is that every single english person will know that Portugal is a country itself, not the same as or indeed part of Spain. "Oh you come from Portugal, I went on holiday to Tenerife." So? I go on holiday to Scotland all the time, next to but not the same as England. "Portugal? Isnt that in Spain?" *looks blunty in state of shock at such ignorance* To the hundredths of people who've said that to me since I moved here, I hope you've got your geography right now.

Ricardo is a hero, if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have won this, I can admit that. And that the portuguese have issues aiming at the goal, for God's sake!

Stressful! Good game though, good game! :D Says the girl who hates football. Bleh.

Mon xx
