I just typed a post about last night and this thing deleted it. I'm not amused now.

Here's the gist of it:

*Got a little lie in this morning
*Did some work with the girls last night
*I'm a shy idiot who doesnt speak in rooms full of people
*Met up with Mike afterwards, went for drinks
*Raspberry ripples are amazing and taste like strawberry milkshake/rhubarb and custard/bakewell tarts
*However, rhubard and custard shots taste like gasoline
*Mike got me a birthday cake shot - yes a shot that tastes like birthday cake!! He told me about it the other day and I was really intruiged by it, so he surprised me last night and got me one. How romantic?! We live in the 21st century, as Carrie Bradshaw once said (oh dear, I'm quoting Sex and the City again), someone giving up their seat for you on the bus is romantic. It was really sweet though, and he makes me laugh
*Someone should lock the cupboards before I get in from a night out, or I'll end up eating tons of rye crispbread with mushroom paté and jam, not together though, eugh!

So that's about it. I'm so happy. And I've just realised that this blog's mood has been fluctuating from happy to sad to very sad, to happy again in the past year and a half...life eh? I've also realised that a lot of it relies on the choices you make. But that's another whole other story...

Just a random title, I liked the sound of it. So it's wednesday...it used to be my favourite day of the week because it was my free day, but now wednesdays mean that I've gotta work, which I'm not too keen on. However, I'm going to Claire's later with the girls to do some work.

Been seeing Mike a lot, he's fantastic. I hate the way that the more I see him, the more I like him (well this bit's great, but carry on reading and you'll know what I mean), and the more scared I get because the more I've got to lose. I know that's really cynical, but it's happened in the past so I'm not letting go completely again, only to end up shit faced again. I really like him though, he's just the kinda guy I've been looking for and I'm made up he chose me to spend his time with. I am the chosen one, indeed! And I'm loving every minute of it.

Oh Christ. My mom's playing the Swan Lake theme tune on the keyboard. She and my sister went to see it in the theatre last night; a few minutes ago she was demonstrating a scene to me - but she cant do ballet or skate on ice, and there's no ice in our living room anyway - but it made me smile (and shake my head a little). My dad took me out for a meal last night, it's kinda become a little tradition, when two of us are busy, the other two do something fun too. So we went to Nando's, had some lovely food and wine, then we drove home and realised neither of us had the key to get in...so we went to the casino. I made a £30 profit!! Might buy a bag later, Rachel bought the black one so I might buy a green one so that we can share them!

Sooo yeah...in a nutshell: I like Mike, I'm scared that it's all gonna go tits up, me and my dad are airheads and we like the smell of barbequed chicken, wednesdays are a little bit shit, I hate polo neck tops, my mom can't dance like the ballerinas in Swan Lake.

Oops it's time to catch up again. So last night...it was such a good night! Me and Mike went to Nando's; and my veggie pitta was gooooood, as was the wine - the whole bottle of it (where have I heard this before...). The weather was though. And I love Nando's claim that they "love vegetarians, all their chickens are vegetarians". After our meal we went for cocktails and drinkies in a couple of places and I met 3 of Mike's mates, one of them was one of his best mates so that was really cool, he's a really nice guy.

Mike brought me home to make sure I got in safe and I shall be seeing him again soon. After half a bottle of wine, a cocktail and 3 apple bacardi breezers (or Bacardi Geezer butch apple, for men - I'm such a good marketeer!!), I might've been a little bit drunk, but he still likes me so hurrah! Well actually let me get that straight, my first drink was taken away by a guy even though it was still half full, then Mike got me another one which I was holding whilst talking and moving my hand and I spilled some of it, and the third one Faz (his mate) got me - he forced me to have it, honest!! But yeah, apple bacardi rules. My parents thought I was completely off my face when I got in cos I made some noise, but I wasnt drunk, I'm just downright clumsy.

So last night... the boy took me to a lovely café and the food was gorgeous, as was the wine - the whole bottle of it. Mike was even willing to try a veggie dish! After the meal we went for drinks in a couple of places and without meaning to be *ahem* mushy we just sat there cuddling up and being one of those couples we hated before we got together! He's a sweetie and I cant wait to spend more time with him, and I'll stop here cos if his mates ever read this they'll take the piss - guys do that, dont they? Oh there's just one little thing, Mike said that whenever he talks about his mate Ben and his girlfriend Jenny, he thinks about Ben & Jerry's; and I realised that we're M&M's, as in Monica and Michael...so here's a little convo me, my mom and my sister had this morning:

Sooo today's been interesting so far, here's a summary of all things good and bad - starting with the bad so that the good will cheer me up afterwards:

Bad: the rain made me look like a wet puppy earlier, it's cold and horrid, I've gotta go to the doctor's in a minute and then find a way home from the middle of nowhere, my printer ran out of ink this morning so I had to rush to the library to print off my work

Good: one more assignment's out the way, I've bought a gorgeous top for christmas, my new moisturiser smells really nice thus so will I, I'm going out with Mike later!! We're going for a meal, he checked their veggie options and everything, now that's the kinda guy I'd like to end up with. I've nearly finished my assignment so I'm allowed to take a minute to whine. I'm starting to think I should've picked another topic, as I keep coming across pictures of animal testing and it's just horrible. It makes me not want to use anything that's ever been tested on animals, which is like, everything I use, and animal friendly shops like The Body Shop aren't exactly the best place for students to shop, as they're overpriced. I wasnt pleased to find out that my favourite brand is part of Procter&Gamble, who are bastards and still carry out obsolete and extremely cruel animal testing. To think that they killed rabbits and other fluffy animals to get those products to the shops is just so wrong.

It just makes me sick; and I dont wanna do any more research. But I have to...and as soon as I click on this other link and see that photo of the rabbits restrained by the head waiting for chemicals to be poured into their eyes, I'm gonna feel like crying again.

Last night I was sitting at home bored, as was Mike, (*ahem* my boyfriend) so we decided to meet up! Was that subtle enough?! ...and also having talked to my confidants, I've realised that there's a difference between being nice and being naive. As it turns out, I'm both. Last night I was getting changed and I saw my tattoo (which says "she flies with her own wings") and I thought "yeah, I'm not gonna let someone dictate my life and choices", so the tattoo was a good source of strength after all, which was the point of it!

Last night was good, me and Mike saw a few bands then went for a drink and even though he didnt drink alcohol cos he was driving, he made me have a very nice cocktail! And then I saw my ex! Two of them, actually! Yeah, I wish that hadnt happened. Seeing Andy was nice though as I hadnt seen him in ages, even though he was so drunk he probably didnt know who I was. So next week we're going out in Sheffield as Liverpool is obviously too small a place. Kidding!

Apparently there are 248,974 people in America with the first name Monica. More than 99.9% of them are female - good to know. And there are 10 people with the same first and last name as me, so I think I'm special. All 11 of us are.

I've had my hair done, it looks gorgeous. Straight, shiny and really soft. It's just one of those very rare times when I actually like my hair, because it looks normal.

You might've picked up that I'm not in a shiny mood anymore. No, someone's taken it away from me, indeed someone stole my thunder. Why? I mean, why??? Nice people always get screwed up, maybe I should become more of a bitch and go round telling people to get f*cked (I've never seen the point in hiding the word fuck with an *, so there you go) and do what I want and not care about anyone else. Before you think I've done something bad, I havent. But you can never keep everyone happy all the time, can you? And somehow, I always manage to put others first, even when they dont deserve it.

This year's been shit; my summary of 2006 will consist of scars (both physical and mental), several fucked up relationships and a lot of not-so-good things happening in my head.

Soooo, let me explain the last two posts. I went to see The KBC and The Sunshine Underground last night and they were amazing! Shame the guy's guitar pedal screwed up and they had to stop earlier than they were meant to, but still it was pretty good! Best of all was the company though, Mike's really into gigs so it was fun being there with him! And he makes me laugh; we didnt know what to drink and we thought the green drinks looked pretty so we had them. Then we had pink drinks, for the same reason. Then I asked for a hangover by having a Caribbean Martini, ah Malibu does wonders to you the next day. Anyway, we were gonna go to a place that does a cocktail called Monica (fine...Monica Lewinsky) but it looked really busy so we went to this private little club instead and yet again they didnt ask for our membership cards, awww! I wanted to show it off. But nevermind, we just sat and talked for hours. So, to sum up:

Before you read this, let me just clarify that I am not hung up on him, it's just a one sided discussion about a boy who's being very mean to a girl he once called his soul-mate. So you might've heard about Andy (on pretty much every post until May-ish), and that we split up earlier this year. Now Andy...has a new girlfriend. Now that doesnt bother me, I want him to be happy cos we didnt break up on bad grounds or anything, we just wanted different things so we went our different ways. But his mom, my ex-mom-in-law, rang me before and she didnt have a clue about this, so I filled her in and that's when I got upset about the whole thing. We were best friends, we grew up together. And now, because he has a new girl, he doesnt speak to me anymore. But then again that's one of the things we didnt agree on, he thought that because we were in a relationship, we couldnt talk to anyone else of the opposite sex - and he's doing it again. And the other thing is, he's moving and leaving our former loveshack. I loved that place, even though it stunk of old food and weird room spray most of the time. And yet another thing is that when you break up with someone there's this unwritten game called 'who will die miserable' (to quote Samantha in Sex and the City) and it's not that I want him to end up miserable at all, I want and hope that he is happy, but you dont expect the next person to be tall, blonde, pretty and everything you're not. Well, she doesnt have a lot of things that I do, which I'm sure will come in useful when Andy tries to take over her life. BURN! I had to say it, I'm not made of steel.

So, changing the subject of newfoundglory onto myself, I have a crush. On a guy. Yep. Oh dear. Gonna try not to jinx it this time, but will keep you updated on that!

Already had a commiseratory lunch with the girls and shall be having forget-about-everything drinks tonight. Life's good again.

On the other hand, why are men like buses? One chucks you, you're single for longer than you wish you were, then they all start showing interest in one go. Note to self: have complementary forget-about-all-men drink in tonight's shenanigans.

Oh my God I am so peaceful that I could fall asleep right now. Ahhh bliss. When my sister got home she asked if I fancied going swimming and using the jacuzzi and sauna/steamroom/saunarium; and as I'd had a shit day, I jumped at the chance! I really, really love my sister. We spent hours steaming up, massaging our bodies in the hydro pool, catching up on gossip and just chilling out. When I got home I had a loooong shower and then had salmon and veggies for dinner, to complement the cleansing! Now if only I could get my hands on some wine...

So my crap day ended rather brilliantly, thanks to my gorgeous baby sis!! Another happy ending in Momoland - the first in ages, actually.
