2006 Summary

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 - 11:32:35

Well, the best word to describe this year is "turmoil". It's been an eventful year to say the least!

Things I’ve learnt this year:

*Never let anyone tell you how to live your life

*The people who really love you will be there for you when you need them the most

*Don’t waste time thinking about the past or regretting things you’ve done, it won’t change anything and won’t get you anywhere

*People who always make you feel depressed aren’t worth having in your life, i.e. if they ruin your aura, get rid of/distance yourself from them

*I’m stronger than I thought I was - a tough cookie, if you will

*See your friends as often as possible, they’re few and precious

*Good things come to those who wait

*I’m not actually dead inside; I just had to find the right person before I could let my guard down

*Do everything you want to do, because you can

Downsides of 2006:

*Splitting up with my ex best friend, the guy I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with

*Having an operation – the worst thing that’s ever happened to me

*Getting over someone, after I realised that it was never going to happen for us

*Statistics and Economics lectures, and all assignments and exams

Highlights of 2006:

*Passing my first year at university, even statistics

*Getting my first tattoo, and then another one

*Going to the beach and sunbathing

*Growing up as a person, finding inner peace and having several epiphanies (I did this last year too!)

*Meeting Mike – the highlight of my year *cheesy smile*. Seriously, he rocks my little world. ;)

I still dont know what's going on tonight, but I have a feeling I may be passed out before 12 hummm we shall see!

My last song for this year is 'let go' by A Static Lullaby. Have a brilliant night everyone! And don't forget the painkillers for tomorrow!

Love ya

Love Quiz

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 - 13:07:16

Sky's dead and I'm bored. Here's a quiz I nicked off Cheryl:

1. Would you kiss the last person you kissed, again?
Yep of course!

2. How many girlfriends/ boyfriends have you told you love them?
Three, but I was very very drunk with one of them, so two.

3. Have you ever thought that you were going to marry a person?
Yep.

4. Have you ever loved someone so much that it hurt?
Yep, I hate that.

5. Have you ever made a boyfriend or girlfriend cry?
Yeah, and I felt really bad about it.

6. Are you happier single or in a relationship?
In a relationship, it's more fun.

7.Have you ever been cheated on?
There's far too many bastards in the world.

8. Have you ever told someone you loved them and didn't mean it?
Not on purpose, that'd be mean.

9. Have you ever had your heart broken?
Yep.

10. Have you ever broken someone's heart?
Yep.

11. Talk to any of your exes?
Not really, meaning that we're civil but we dont talk.

12. If you could go back in time and change things, would you?
Humm some things, but it's better not to have any regrets otherwise you wouldnt be who you are today.

13. Think any of your exes feel the same?
Nah, I hate my ex far more than he hates me I think, but I dont care anyway cos there's only one guy whose opinion I care about and he does feel the same and I hope he'll never be an ex.

14. Do you believe that you are a good boyfriend or girlfriend?
I try, I'm thoughtful anyway.

15. Have you dated people who were not good to you?
Yeah.

16. Have you dated someone older than you?
Yep only slightly though, not really into pedos!

17. Younger?
Once. Ok twice. But I was 13, it doesnt even count!

18. Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?
Depends on what they've done, some things are inexcusable.

19. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not really, most people you'd look at and think you love them are good looking, then they open their mouth and say a load of shit and that's your love at first sight out the window!

20.Ever been given a promise ring?
Yeah.

21. Do you want to get married?
Yeah, I've never been sure about it but I'm starting to like the idea more.

22. Has anyone ever told you they wanted to marry you?
Yep.

23. Do you see yourself getting engaged?
Yeah but I wouldnt make the same mistake again, the "oh it's just the same as having a boyfriend but I get to wear a ring" attitude is wrong. If you wanna be with that one person forever, that's a good reason to get engaged! And anyway if I get married I'm bound to be engaged at some point too, arent I?!

24. When/how?
Awww no the man's supposed to do that, it's much more romantic that way!

25. Describe your ideal wedding.
Not too big, classy in a romantic sort of way, in the summer, pretty but subtle decorations, me looking stunning haha, everyone having a good time and decent music. Fucking 'simply the best' will not play at my fucking wedding, I tell you. But most importantly me and Mr Monica having the best day of our lives.

26. Kids?
Smell of milk. I'd like one eventually though, or whatever me and Mr Monica decide.

27. Ever liked someone else's boyfriend or girlfriend?
No!

28. Does heartbreak really feel as bad as it sounds?
Yeah it feels like it sounds actually, to me anyway. It physically hurts.

29. Describe your first crush
Errm, his name was David and I met him on the first day at school, we started going out then too and we walked around the playground holding hands and all his mates found it gross.

30. Your first kiss
I was 12 or 13, with this guy called Paulo and he had long blonde hair and looked like a surfer. And it was behind the basketball court in school - how very romantic!

Now...let's go see some grass and sheep. I hope we find a fudge house, or a house made of fudge, on the way to Wales. It'll make my day.

I dont have a song for today, but I do have a cocktail! Milk 'n' cookies, phowaaahhh!!! Best thing in the world. Oh wait, kissing Mike and having a cookie cocktail. Mmmmmmmm.

Mon xx

Catching up

by sweetymon @ Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 - 12:06:18

Well I've been busy! My cousin and her boyfriend are staying over until next week so we've been showing them around and catching up. And I've also seen Mike a lot, which is great! Especially because I seem to become a whiny bitch when I miss him.

Christmas was really good; my veggie feast was yummy, I got lots of lovely presents (and everything I wanted!), I saw my other half and we spent the evening watching Spaced and Ricky Gervais’ show *ahem*. Then on boxing day we went shopping, then to his house and he showed me lots of old photos – it was great fun! Aaaand yesterday we went to the gay side of town for a night out then hit the Casino. Chocolate shots are rank. Which reminds me, I decided to attack the alcohol cabinet on Christmas eve and after wine, Bailey’s, whiskey, mulled wine (cold, it’s much less horrible that way) and some Greek drink, I decided to make shots – rice pudding one being the worst invention in the history of humanity.

Anyway, I’ll post something before monday cos I’ve been making a list of good and bad things that have happened this year, as I did last year. )-o

So I shall go and make sure my cousin doesn’t get near my ghd’s without my assistance. Today’s song is 'the great escape' by We Are Scientists.

Here we are again

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006 - 15:29:12

So, it's my second christmas on blogland! And what a brilliant one it is too. My christmas eve started off great! :>> I woke up and saw the most amazing guy in the world, what more could a girl want?! Plus, to be cheesy cos it's christmas (totally commercial holiday but you've gotta love it), when I saw him I had this lovely feeling that he's the guy I wanna wake up to every morning. Last night we (go on, say it..."so you're a "we" now?") decided to make cocktails and it's great how they tasted lovely and we mixed all sorts and we didnt even get very drunk/hungover. Santa loves us!

Me and Alex have already given each other our presents and I'm really glad she loves her Barbie perfume, we used to have it when we were little so when I saw it I had to buy it cos I knew it'd remind her of our childhood. Now she's going round the house smelling like bubblegum haha!

Anyway, I just wanted to wish everyone a lovely christmas, I've made some really good friends here and I hope you all stuff yourselves with gorgeous food and drinks tonight and tomorrow! I know I will. ;)

Have a good one darlings!

I'm a gingerbread house

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 - 11:47:37

"You Are a Gingerbread House

A little spicy and a little sweet, anyone would like to be lost in the woods with you."

The code didnt work so I had to do it the old fashioned way, sorry! That made me laugh though, I saw it on Ruth's blog and the lack of amusement going on made me decide to take the little quiz. Right then, it's christmas eve eve, I'm a bit miffy and I have to go out in a minute. Dont you just love the holidays?

Today's song is 'almost' by Bowling for Soup - so christmasy!

The joy of christmas shopping

by sweetymon @ Friday, Dec. 22, 2006 - 17:25:51

Hmmmm getting up at noon, bliss. Well actually I woke up at 7:30am to wish the boy a nice day as it's his last day in work before the little christmas break, then I went back to sleep. Today's been utterly useless really, I volunteered to go shopping with my mom and I swear if I had tourette's I would've been kicked out of Tesco, good thing the words stay in my head. Anyway, I got a few things for my first vegetarian christmas dinner, and some things for a sleepover tomorrow, i.e. drinks and snacks, i.e. alcohol and chocolate really. However, raging hormones are making me want to slap everyone for no good reason. U-( I wont even go into the subject of people in the supermarket. Oh there's just one thing though, I really dont wanna be an ugly old woman, seriously...I know it happens to everyone eventually, but if my face ends up looking like a vagina by the time I'm 70, I might shoot myself. That's all.

Today's song is 'what you waiting for' by Gwen Stefani.

I got a grip

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 - 14:42:37

It's funny, I was just reading Nixie's blog and she's made my day. The reason it made my day is that it explained how I feel today. I went out with my hair in a ponytail. I know that sounds really ordinary and silly, but for those of you who dont know it yet, I've got a scar on my neck. Ok ok, most people have to look hard and close to see it, but I know it's there and I never wear my hair up. But I did today! So basically, note to self: get a grip, and wear your hair up more often, it looks feminine and classy. I love giving myself a kick up the arse, honestly.

This morning I braved the evilness that is shopping just before christmas, got some more little things and now I'm happy with my presents! I love thinking about what to get people and shopping for presents, hopefully they'll like what I got them! :D

Not sure what's happening later yet, but I'll keep you posted! Oooh and I'm sooo excited to be on the top 20 blogs! I took a snapshot of it and everything, that's how sad proud I am!! :>>

Today's song is 'rehab' by Amy Winehouse. I hope everyone's having a fantastic day.

Dinky post

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 - 11:51:37

The massive title for the previous post was annoying me a bit so I decided to write another one. It's my daddy's birthday today *hip hip hurray for daddy * and he's got the day off so for the first time in a very very long time the whole family is at home together. On a wednesday, which makes it even nicer. We're all looking out the window marvelling at the fact that we dont have to leave the house. My lovely boyfriend is in work though, so I'll have to give him extra special hugs when I see him.

There, that's a smaller post.

Today's song is 'ava adore' by the Smashing Pumpkins.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip and Dale rescue rangers Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip and Dale when there's danger...

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 - 11:22:19

I'm going to kill 02. On one hand, I was really happy to find out that my ceaseless top-ups have given me 500 free txts, but on the other hand...why would they wake me up at 9AM to tell me that?! I hadn't even slept my drinks off yet, and my head didnt thank them for that. Last night was good though, we went out for Mike's mate's birthday and come to think of it I might not drink anything blue for a while. Or until next time I go out, which would be tonight. Maybe I'll have a blue wkd. I can let this one off though, as the blue wkd will help me gather the courage to sing in public. And Mike gets to meet my lovely mates! Hurrah everyone's happy! Except for Chip and Dale of course, they're on my black list for some reason. Poor squirrels. Mike said we should go to EuroDisney and kill two birds with one stone, and..."awww birds, let's kill something else instead, what are those two squirrels called?" "Chip and Dale?" "Yeah we should kill them!!" I'm sorry. I love squirrels really, I always dodge them when I'm riding my bike in the park. But one time I did that and went flying off my bike and hurt my leg. Hummm...

Anyway, enough nonsense already. Today's song is 'these words' by Natasha Bedingfield. I had to stop looking through the music channels before my sister threw a cheerio at me. U-(

I may have a nap now.

In a light mood

by sweetymon @ Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 - 15:38:50

So here I am having the best Monday since the Monday when me and Mike met. No Monday will ever be as good as that, so today is lucky to come second. As it’s my first Monday off, I decided to celebrate by watching tv, eating maltesers and drinking wine; even after my sister said “do you know what time it is??” Yes dear, I do, and that’s the beauty about a day off and being an adult, and having wine in the fridge. Yum.

Anyway, as it is the 19th tomorrow, i.e. the day Mike and I made it official that we’re a happy couple, I decided to talk about him a little, in honour of him, my little sweetie. He’s gonna kill me. Well he wont because he loves me, all axe murderer and lumberjack jokes aside (yeah sorry, you wont get that! – eeee how mean does that sound?!).

So what could I say about him…

He’s the guy who’ll take me to my favourite restaurant and get me yummy cocktails if I’ve had a bad day, or just drive to my house to see me and give me a hug. Or just drive to my house if we’re both free, cos the more time we spend together the better. He’s the kind of guy who’ll kiss me in front of his friends and not be embarrassed about it. And he introduced me to his parents as Monica, the best part being that they already knew who Monica was. He’s the guy who’ll spend his day off with me, shopping, being a couple, fulfilling my addiction to sweets! And walking in the rain without whining, because there are more important things, such as us spending time together, and not even a child-sized umbrella could ruin that. He drinks my cocktails and tells me they’re delicious, which I’m still not sure whether he really likes them cos everyone else says they suck. Maybe he’s just being nice, but it means the world to me because I try to make them nice especially for him. He’s the guy who’ll tell me I look gorgeous when I’ve eaten tons of chocolate, and I believe him. I believe him so much that I’m eating maltesers as I write this. I trust him. He’s the guy who made me believe in love again, and everytime I look into his eyes I know that my little world is complete, and things are gonna be okay. He’s got amazing eyes. He’s just the guy I’ve always wanted to meet, and now that I have, I couldn’t be happier.

Oh, I’ve ran out of wine...

Today’s song is ‘sticky honey’ by Juliette and the Licks. I dare you to put that on and resist the temptation to dance!!

Freud sucks

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006 - 12:02:16

Lately I've been having nightmares that my sweetheart is cheating on me, the kind of nightmares that feel so real that they keep you up. I let myself go past the point where you can get out of the relationship and not care about it; if something was to happen I'd be really upset. I promised myself I wouldnt do this, but he's different... he's worth it because we enjoy being together. So it's nice having so much to lose, and for the first time in ages I've actually felt something instead of being numb to everything, but I dont fancy going through the whole breakup fuss again. So before I was young and naive and now, I'm more mature and aware of the fact that people do cheat on people, it happened before and it can happen again. And I hate this irrational fear of something that hasnt even happened, but the nightmares are obviously my subconscious worrying about it. And it's not fear of being alone, it's of there being another world that's going on behind your back that you're not aware of, it's a waste of time and a lack of disrespect. It's a waste of a little bit of your life, that's what bothers me. So all you cheating scum out there, you should all >:XX!

Anyway just to defend myself before you render me a basket case, I'm not...and I trust my sweetie, and he trusts me. I just wish the bad dreams would stop cos there's no reason for them, I'm happy and have nothing to complain about! I blame my ex for making me somewhat cynical. Arsehole. Or myself, for staying with him as long as I did, and forming this shield to fend off people, just in case they turn out to be like him.

This is probably one of those things people keep to themselves, but on my first post I said that I'd write about my thoughts and stories sooo here, enjoy!

Today's song is 'snow' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Save me

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 - 20:50:40

Ahhh my blog, my little salvation. Whilst the majority of the country is glued to the TV watching the X Factor final, I'm trying really hard to fade it out. Nothing against it, they're both good singers, it's just not my type of thing because neither of them will write/play their own music, so what exactly are we rewarding them for? Singing? Is that it?! My grandad can sing and he's never been famous/rich.

The rosé's all gone, so I might hit the hard stuff later.

So what have I done today...I had a massive clear-out, filled up a massive bag for charity and got rid of loads of stuff. Now there's more room for new stuff! I also started a little memory box of things that me and Mike have done together. It's our 1-month-birthday soon (anniversaries are only every year, arent they?), I know that's cheesy but I'm so in love I dont care! Hey at least I havent shouted on top of a mountain yet...because, there are no mountains around here, really.

Anyway, I guess I'll go. Now where did I hide that valium...

Love,

Mon xx

Please let me sleeeeeep

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 - 13:57:37

Grrrrrr. I'm starting to give up on my idea of having a lie in at the weekend...this time my sister's choice of waking-monica-up device was her phone ringing again and again and again, some shitty noise that plays in some shitty clubs. Ahhhhhh!!!!! Ok, rant over. Well, not quite. This morning was one of those rare times when I was able to sleep on my side without my neck hurting (the scar's healed, the insides humm not so sure!) and I was woken up by THAT! :**: Ok ok, that's all. I love the girl, can't be mad at her for too long. And everyone goes through that annoying teenage phase, so I can't blame her; gotta blame the hormones.

Today's song is 'this could be anywhere in the world' by Alexisonfire, Scuzz is one of the few channels working on Sky! Evil weather ruining my satellite. *blah blah blah*

A special day

by sweetymon @ Friday, Dec. 15, 2006 - 23:45:55

Awww I've had a brilliant day! I knew it was gonna be good when Mike told me he had the day off work and asked me out for lunch. After a lovely lunch we went shopping, got tons of jellies from the Haribo tent (whatever I said I liked Mike threw in the bag haha :D:D), went to the museum and saw lots of cute fishies and ugly bugs...then we decided to stay out for dinner but the restaurant was too busy so we went to a pub and had a bottle of wine and a chat first. Then dinner...yuuuummm who would've known that nutmeg thingy was so good?! Mike even had the veggie dish with me, he took me there as a surprise because it's really good for veggie food. I've had all my fave drinkies too: cappuccino, white wine and martini and lemonade. All in all, a perfect day! Except for the rain, but I just laughed when we kept stepping in puddles and my umbrella was falling apart, oh and my shoe got stuck in the pavement. I was with the perfect guy though, who cares about the rain?!! ;)

Today's song is 'Chelsea dagger' by The Fratellis!

No crab thanks, just carbs

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 - 18:50:00

Lalala. I've had such a dull day, not done anything useful whatsoever and drank way too many hot drinks. On the plus side, my short lived cold's gone! I was in a good mood and decided to offer to cook tonight, even had a delicious offer on the menu, but they've decided that they want crab instead, soooo I ain't doing that. The only thing we'll share is the wine, so Rosé it is.

Right I'm off to do some exercise. Everyone knows that women have two strong features - boobs and bottom - and I'm a bit like the Kates (Moss and Hudson) on the boob department, so gotta make sure the bottom is in top shape. The more carbs (cake, italian bread and cinnamon swirls) the better, hurrah!

I should really stop talking about my body parts in a place where everyone can read about my insecurities, tisk. When will I (ever) learn?!

The tale of the girl and the doorbell

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 - 11:44:30

For the love of God, will someone ever let me have a lie in on my day off?!

I was woken up by the doorbell ringing again and again and again, so decided to give in and go downstairs to check who it was, whilst muttering "you better not be damn jehovah's or I will shut the door in your face". Grrr.

It was the roof guy to check that leak. The good thing is, I won't hear my sister say "oh look it's raining in the house again", as that makes me feel like I'm in Jumanji or something. But on the other hand, I was wearing a white thermal top, with a green vest top, pants covered in little monkeys, stripey purple and white fluffy slippers (with my bottoms stuck inside them), and a there's-something-about-Mary style fringe. And to top it all off, I didnt take off my make up last night so I look rather dashing, kinda like Alice Cooper. There's a sexy description of me for ya!!!

The guy goes "oh, weren't you expecting me love? I said I'd come at 10." *remembers conversation with mom two nights ago* "yeah yeah I was, come in, I'll show you my wall"... *sees the wall* "right, I'll come back later, you don't have to be in you know. I'll see myself out love."

I'm gonna need a lot more sugar in my coffee before I find that funny.

Today's song is 'resolve' by the Foo Fighters. Scuzz seems to be the only channel working on Sky...evil weather running my satellite dish!

Beat it!

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 - 18:07:42

Yippieeee!! See, normal people usually stay in bed and drink soup when they're not feeling well. Me, not so much. I hate feeling crap, so what did I do? I put on an exercise video and worked my ass off, literally...twice. And then I danced around a little. And updated all my photos! And and and now I feel much better! As if I was gonna let the sickness take over me, ha! I have to be well for tonight, and now I feel much better, so there! Monicas are special like that.

In honour of moirob, and sorry dear that it took me so long to post this (blame the silly laptop!), here's a nice little video:

I think I'm gonna have a cold shower now!

Last lecture, make the effort

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 - 09:34:01

So, I feel sick this morning. Don't know why, which is annoying, but I do.

After receiving a letter from the uni whining about my attendance, I decided to go to this lecture later, it'll be my last one so I'm chuffed but all I wanna do is curl up on the couch with some hot chocolate. Humm actually...no I don't. Other than that I'm waiting to hear back from my lecturer who gave me a bad mark on my animal testing essay. Who does he think he is to talk to his students the way he has? He's rude and cynical, and he's not gonna like what I've said to him but if he thinks he can talk to people that way, then he's gotta expect someone to stand up to him and tell him to f*** off - and that person is me!! I dont often do things like this, but it really frustrated me, so my new year's resolution to be more assertive has been working out quite well this year. It's my life man, if there's something not to my liking I will change it. Unfair, really bad mark...are you kidding me?! I'm too much of a geek to let that go.

The good thing about today is that I get to see my guy tonight. Things are going great, I couldn't be happier! :)

Today's song is 'infra red' by Placebo. They were amazing!! And so's Mike for taking me to see them! He is the most amazing boyfriend, and I'm a lucky gal. ;)

Meet the Friends

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Dec. 09, 2006 - 11:37:47

I was reading my old entries on my blog and I noticed a little change in pattern; mainly that I used to do much weirder things - or at least that I admitted to doing them, and things weren't as stressful/grownup as they are today. Maybe it's me who's changed? I think I'm more mature, still do the mandatory silly things, eg. asking Mike for a piggy back in town at night (lots of people staring), but the sad part is that when you make better choices with your life, less strange things tend to happen, which makes for a more grown up blog instead of an emo oh-my-god-I-went-out-and-got-drunk-and-made-a-fool-of-myself one. I did go out and get drunk last night though (mainly on a drink called Super Woo Woo hahaha). Met Mike's mates! They're all so nice (especially when they pointed and went 'eeeeeeee' when we kissed!:))). I'm really glad he wanted me to meet them as well, it's a lovely thing to do, meeting the people who make him smile. Tonight I'm seeing him again and we're gonna go to see Zombina and the Skeletones! And Placebo tomorrow! And The Fratellis in February! And Alexisonfire in March! Ha! :>>

At least I know which area of my life is a little screwed up; cos you know when everything's too perfect something's bound to go wrong, and this time it's uni. That evil man cleared me of plagiarism but gave me a crap mark cos apparently I didnt do enough research. I'm gonna go kick his arse on monday, not enough research?!?!?! There's a reason I'm a vegetarian and avoid things that have been tested on animals now!!! Wanker. :##

Today's song is 'how you remind me' by Nickelback. ;D

Have a great saturday everyone! I know I will. ;)

Love,

Mon xx

My baby has a hole

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Dec. 06, 2006 - 10:48:44

I was out last night and only noticed on the way home that I had a picture message off someone, but had to wait to get home to see it on the internet, because my phone's being an idiot. I checked it and...oh my GOD my little sister got her belly button pierced!! Whaaaaat?! I'm always on her side (ok, that's a lie, I'm always protecting her thus never not often on her side), but I was so shocked. It's like, my little baby sister and giant needles and pain shouldnt go together, even if it was self inflicted. However, now that I've come to terms with it, it does look pretty and as much as I hate to admit it, it does suit her. And she was lovely when I got my tattoos done (and kept it a secret from our parents until I told them) so I've decided to be nice about it and support her, if she's happy then so am I. God I'm gonna make some kid's life miserable one day.

All assignments done, no lectures today, not hungover from last night's cocktails, seeing my lovely boyfriend soon... life is good! ;D

Today's song is 'Hey Julie' by Fountains of Wayne. Mike's my Julie. Not in a Ali G 'Me Julie' kinda way though, read the lyrics and you'll see what I mean.

Mon xx
