Humph. I dont know which is worse - the smell of sweat, piss, people's coffee or ciggie breath, or just general emissions of CO2 on public transport, but it makes me wonder why the hell no one opens a freaking window; do they like the smell of shit or something? Great start to my morning, seriously.

As I was early to meet Rachel, I popped into the Body Shop to buy some goodies; and realised that their prices have gone up. Very clever Body Shop, but you aint fooling me! They have sales over christmas then increase their prices to make up for money lost. Honestly, I have principles, but I really cant afford them. Being against animal cruelty shouldnt be this complicated, or expensive.

So I met Rach, grabbed a huge cappuccino on the way to the lecture to wake me up, and some guest speaker was there to talk about careers. If I wanted a job, I'd have one by now - enough said. What seems like forever later, I went to Subway for lunch and didnt realise that a Veggie Delite was just bread with vegetables, I thought it had a veggie burger thing in it like the Veggie Patty, but no...I had a lettuce and tomato sandwich. Very amusing, I know. So then I went to another lecture but by this time I just wanted to fall asleep with my head on the table.

Get home, crash on the couch, thank God it's my day off tomorrow; which will be even more fun as me and the boy have plans. He makes it so much more bareable. Kinda like chocolate, but better.

I have so little faith in myself. Gotta leave the house to meet Rachel at 9:45am, so I decided to get up at 8am to have plenty of time to get ready. But I'm ready now! It's not like I can go back to sleep now, soooo I'm thinking trashy morning tv. Honestly, what I'd give to go back in time and set my alarm for 9am instead...

On a happier note, I had an epiphany last night; so I woke up feeling tired and with a headache from lack of sleep (I blame the new sheets, they were far too crispy for my liking), but I do feel great! And I can't wait for tomorrow, got a fun night planned with the boy!

I've had such a great weekend! Had a night in with the boy on friday and as always it was fab. Then last night we went to his mate's house party and it was lots of fun (although those vodka jellies were possibly the most alcoholic thing I've ever drank), and I ended up staying at Mike's after copious amounts of wine. It was such a good night; and this morning was even better. I mean, there's nothing better than waking up, seeing your amazing other half, realizing it's sunday and you can have a lie in, and going back to sleep until noon. It's just bliss.

But if you don't watch Sex and the City you won't get that. Today's been very strange. I say that because I woke up at 8am, exercised, wrote loads of notes in a lecture, have eaten extremely well (i.e. healthy), sorted out all my uni stuff, went bikini shopping so that I can start swimming more often (didnt find one, but it's the effort that counts!), came home and had an apple instead of cake. What's going on?! The happy Monica's back, and she's sticking around for a while becaaaause...

I've got a law lecture in a bit. I chose it, therefore I wont complain about it! I dont like politics and law, the world's nonetheless a very unfair place and somehow the baddies seem to lead easier lives than us hardworking, nice people. So I thought I'd pick a law module, so that if I spot something wrong, I can do something about it. I feel sorry for whoever comes across my path from now on!

Last night we had a family do for my sister's birthday and being the only sober person there was a bad idea, but I just couldnt stand the sight of alcohol after drinking a lot of martini the night before. It was fun though, and I had a little chat in Spanish with the waiter. It was a Spanish restaurant, and the waiter was Spanish, if that makes more sense.

Why oh why did I tell my sister I'd take her to get a tattoo for her birthday?! Now she's nagging, calling me all sorts of cute but slightly annoying names, trying to convince me to go tomorrow when I've got other things to do; but she's so excited about it. Thing is, she's only 16. I dont wanna make all the effort to get there and then be told to p*** off because she hasnt got parental authorization. The parents dont like the idea (and my mom still hasnt quite understood why my dad got a tattoo of his football team's emblem or why I got a latin phrase), but it's gonna be a tiny thing hidden away, so it's ok as long as they "have nothing to do with it". I am gonna take her, I'd just rather do it with time and properly! God... it must be genetic. I got my last tattoo in the morning before a lecture, just woke up one day and thought "humm I'm finally gonna get that tattoo"; and then spent the whole afternoon flinching because everytime I laid back on my chair my back hurt. She just came into my room and said "have you changed your mind yet?". Can't blame her for trying.

You'll have to forgive me, but I've the need to be gay and cheesy. I should be in bed so that I'd feel (and look) fresh on my first day back in uni, but f*ck it, I've been there for ages so I've gone past caring.

Well...just got back from Nightmare of You, the band was great, loved every song! The stupid part is, I had my black stilettos on. Why would I wear stilettos for a gig, I ask myself. And to get to the point, after standing up for a while I felt like my feet were dead. That's when I realised that life is like a pair of really nice high heels. Sometimes you feel like you're walking on unsteady ground, but if you've got someone to hold you you feel safe. And if you trip over, that someone will come to your rescue. And when it feels like you cant take it anymore, that someone will take your mind off the pain. And when you get home, back to safe grounds, and take off the shoes, you'll realise that life is much better with that someone and that it was well worth wearing the gorgeous shoes.

I swear I havent touched the alcohol! Diet coke and hot chocolate only - very hardcore indeed.

For once I'm ready early, so I thought I'd update this. My plans for today (see last post) didnt really get followed...by 12ish I'd already done laundry, exercised and sorted out my room. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon doing, er, quite frankly nothing. Then I read some more of The Bell Jar. Now I'm waiting for the boy to pick me up; and kicking myself for trying out a different hair style for the first time when I actually have to go out. They don't look like retro curls at all, looks more like I made the curls, brushed them, tipped my head upside down and shook it madly. Now I've gotta go out looking like a mental patient on the run. But nevermind, I'm off to see a band with my other half!

Most people hate mondays, but for me it's a day off! I hope it stays that way, or I'll have to stomp my feet and go "no no noooooo" (again...) if a lecturer announces that there'll be extra stuff on on mondays!! So, having said that, here's my plan for today:

Ahhh sunday. You're supposed to have a lie in, get up, have a nice breakfast and relax. You're not supposed to go to sleep at 3am, get up at 9am still dizzy, with a rather rock 'n' roll look from last night's make up, forget where you've left things and sit on the couch watching Newlyweds. That's exactly what I did.

I'm going to Paris!! It's always been one of my dreams, a realistic one (not like winning the lottery). Me and the perfect guy in one of the most romantic cities in the world...except that this time it's all real and I really can't wait. Hurrah!!!

Economics exam tomorrow dum dum duuuum! I should be more worried, but I've gone beyond caring and more into a 'ah yes, I'm gonna fail' zone. It's economics, I did not sign up for this. All I wanted to do was make adverts or make bands famous. Go to parties, launch new bands, new products, new services, have a good time and enjoy my job. Do you really need to know price elasticity formulae to do that? I think not. At least I can fall asleep on my bed when the boredom of revising takes over me, which is more comfortable and less unorthodox than sleeping in the lecture with my eyes open. Pissed off now. University's a conspiracy.

I'm getting through my Sex and the City box set quite quickly, and whilst watching about ten episodes back to back yesterday I started thinking about love and romance, as it is what they're after and what they can't find. I used to love love, and then I hated it for a little while and clearly expressed cynicism towards it in a sarcastic manner; but now I love it again. So maybe it's not love itself, but who you're in love with that defines whether you're romantic or not. I now agree with my ex that I was "the man" in the relationship, but maybe I had just given up long before I was willing to admit it to myself. Now I find myself remembering little things that my special someone said vaguely in conversation, and noticing little details of what he likes and what he doesnt like. I'm interested, I love our similarities and embrace our differences. Maybe I'm just older and wiser, or maybe I'm still the same naive girl full of dreams. Whatever it is, I love who I am when I'm with him; and as confusing as it may be, no one can understand that better than me. Maybe it's just as simple as it seems. Anyway, I do have things to do so I'll leave you alone now! The next exam is multiple choice, my method of praying and begging God, my little guardian angel and my imaginary friend to help me pass has worked so far, so hopefully it'll work again!

I am exhausted. Studying for hours and worrying about exams can really ruin your sleep, as can an annoying cough that came out of nowhere and wont go away, so this morning I got up and had a big cup of coffee but I was still dozing off whilst attempting to write about gender issues. Seriously, it was not fun. So after the exam I went and bought myself a pair of trainers, pretty pumps covered in cerises. I'm practicing French. Other things I can say are fromage, merci, au revoir, oui, "j'ai perdu mon mamelon" and "mon français est une peu de merde" (my boyfriend taught me that one).

Soooo, I went to my mate's 21st birthday party last night. It was fun, spent most of the night talking, drinking and eating peanuts. The last time I went to that place for a party I was dressed as Snow White, so it was nice to wear my own clothes this time. Mike got to meet my lovely friend Jen (who looked stunning) for the first time; he didnt meet Andrea but he did hear her talk about Anthony having sex with Nicola, no idea who they are but hey, good introduction nonetheless!

I love the way me and Mike get along so well that we can do anything together. I like going out with him, I like staying in with him, I like shopping with him, even food shopping. I like doing silly things with him; piggy back rides, cocktails, our own little jokes that wouldnt make sense to anyone else. It's the best kind of relationship - he's not only my boyfriend, he's my friend too.
