Jalapeno jelly beans are sick and wrong!!

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Jun. 30, 2007 - 22:19:30

You wouldn't believe the things me and my boyfriend have been up to. *giggles* You dirty minded bunch. We went to Manchester; went shopping, had something to eat, went to see Monkey (an amazing opera, all in Mandarin with subtitles but so interesting and pretty), went to the International Festival and had a chocolate wine ice lolly made by this guy - not kidding! - then went for drinks and had some rather yummy food afterwards. All in all, it's been really fun. Except for the >:XX rain, as usual. >:XX rain. Anyway, the funny bits are that we went to Selfridges, saw a massive Jelly Belly sign and bought all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours - when I say wonderful, I mean all of them except jalapeno peppers and baked beans (which actually tasted like bacon). Seriously... and we also saw ants covered in chocolate and worm crisps; there's snacks for every taste out there... And the lovely part was seeing these Japanese biscuits I used to have when I was younger, eating them made me feel like I was back in my early teens again. Oh and Ladee-Bird, I saw the Jif and Lucky Charms, and a jar of marshmallow called Fluff, also at ridiculous prices! Ooh and Oreos cereal! I'm so glad there isn't a Selfridges around here; we really were like two kids in a sweet shop; literally.

And all that jazz

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jun. 29, 2007 - 19:08:34

Last night was great. The rain didnt stop; so me and Mike were delighted to sit inside a warm and cosy Spanish tapas restaurant eating yummy food and drinking wine; and the Bailey's Chocolate Orange Cake deserves a mention for it was very, very nice. And then we walked a little bit further down the road to the jazz bar; it was fun, the music was great and we had more wine and more drinks and talked until the early hours of today. And got harassed by a drunken man who wanted Mike to sing "standing in the way of control" by The Gossip... Ahhhh, my man's perfect. Tonight...isn't. I'm bored to tears already. Bring on the Tia Maria and orange juice.

Today's song is 'back again' by Boy Kill Boy.

I don't regret anything

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jun. 28, 2007 - 11:28:29

Well, almost.

It's only been three days but it feels like I've been away forever. I'm here, still alive!

Went to see La Vie En Rose with Miza-T last night; the film was great, the actress was amazing, and even though it made me miss Paris for the second night in a row, I had a really good time.

And I'm really looking forward to tonight, as me and the boy are going for tapas and then to a wine/jazz bar. When I say jazz bar, this is the kind of elegance that comes to mind; and without a doubt I will be wearing something just as inappropriate a classy outfit. I'm such a girl sometimes.

My humps my humps

by sweetymon @ Friday, Jun. 22, 2007 - 14:31:12

I ache all over! It feels like I've been carrying big potato sacks or that someone's been sitting on my shoulders all night. Suddenly it clicked...yoga!!! It works! My muscles definitely got a good toning session yesterday, which I suppose is more effective than walking and carrying bags when shopping, laughing contractions and toning the hamstrings by walking in heels.

I don't like the way...

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jun. 21, 2007 - 19:38:16

...every time I wear baggy jeans one of my parents, or sometimes both, tell me I'm too thin. Someone please tell them they're supposed to look two sizes bigger than your actual size, and telling a girl that she's thin is hardly received as criticism.

I'm very excited about tonight, the boy will be here soon and we're gonna sit under the roof window enjoying the sun...where's the sun gone?? sound of rain and thunder, drinking cocktails. And once we're drunk, I'll get the Twister mat out and show him how bendy I am. *giggles*

As if I wasn't enough of a hippie already

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jun. 21, 2007 - 10:26:31

I like being in touch with my spiritual side. And I like getting the most out of things by doing as little as possible. Rephrase that, I wish I looked like Eva Longoria by eating cakes and doing no exercise. I'm sick of strenuous aerobics, so I'm gonna start doing yoga! And swimming, that's two fun activities that'll probably make my ass look pretty. I can do this, this and this already (I used to hate P.E. in school, so me and my friend used to grab some mats and contort ourselves for fun. That was eight years ago, but somehow I can still bend myself into a pulp), so I hope the first day wont be too demanding cos I'm paying for seven lessons in advance.

Wish me luck!

High spirits

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jun. 20, 2007 - 13:28:46

Been celebrating for the past two days and it's been great! On monday night my mother kindly bought lots of champagne and a bottle of Malibu for me, so that was a fun night. And yesterday I met up with my bff, Rachel, and did lunch and shopping all day; then our boys joined us and we went for drinks, and dinner at Nando's - yum! Then me and Mike went to "our club" (we went there on our first date!) and carried on having drinks until nearly 1am. Tia Maria with orange juice is lovely and much of it was consumed by me. We had two reasons to celebrate; 1. passing my exams and 2. us having been together for seven months.

Someone tried to steal my thunder by making bitchy comments about my results and me passing in general. Jealousy, perhaps? Whatever the reason was, it wasnt good enough. I'm a nice person and I wouldnt hurt a fly (except for the little cockroach I flushed down the toilet earlier), so it baffles me why someone would go out of their way to deliberately hurt my feelings.

But all in all, it's been a fantastic two days and it's gonna get better cos Mike has a week off work and we've got lots of things planned. Hurrah!

Happy Dad

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Jun. 17, 2007 - 09:28:05

I decided to make my dad breakfast in bed (it's a commercial holiday, Whiskey and expensive gifts are against ethics on this day, like Mother's day and Valentine's day. I always choose to do something thoughtful instead; and get a little gift so they don't moan), but he's always up early so at 8AM I woke up the little sister and off we went to the kitchen. We made a fry-up, she made the eggs because frankly I can't make them to save my life, and she must've been very tired because she started making bacon when I'd already made three rashers. Dad loved it, and his pressies, and I even put Sky Sports on so he's happy, I think!

Me, on the other hand...why, why do I think it's always a good idea to do whatever I want?! I had one more cocktail than I should've, and this morning I don't feel too good. Bleh.

Happy Sunday everyone!

02 Wireless rocked!

by sweetymon @ Saturday, Jun. 16, 2007 - 11:15:57

Yes, we braved the Yorkshire weather warnings and drove to Leeds and yep, it rained all day. We drove through little floods, the car skid in the motorway, we were scared to death of driving on the scariest little road ever, BUT Mike bought me the cutest pink hat to keep my head warm, and we cuddled up all day, and drank hot chocolate, and ate lots of sweeties, and yummy veggie food! And we did get into the VIP area so we had toilets with soap and water! And I wore Mike's hoody on the way home cos mine was wet, I love wearing his hoodies. And, let's not forget the point of being there, the bands!! They were great; I hadn't seen the White Stripes before and they were reaaally good! Loved The Sounds as always, and got to love new bands too. And...we proved that we can do anything together and have fun, which to me is the best feeling ever. He stops to buy me coffee, he eats and likes my food, he patiently picks up my phone from under his seat when I drop it, he tells me I look gorgeous when I think I look like a wet puppy, and he doesnt shout at me when I misread the tomtom. Ahhhh, he's a keeper. But I knew that from day one.

*loved up*

I'm gonna be spending today at home, under a blanket, in pyjamas and fluffy socks.

Rock & Roll Baby

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jun. 14, 2007 - 11:32:54

Last night I decided to get out the old family photos and show my sister how cute we were once upon a time; I was always behind her protecting her every move (not much has changed there) and she never looked chuffed about it (not much has changed there, either). Two little girls sitting on a sofa chair (with plenty of room left). So sweet. I couldn't help but think "three tattoos; make-up artist". Or about other things we've done recently, such as my sister asking me to put a bucket next to her bed in case she threw up after a night out, or me refusing to lend her money to dye her hair pink (which, to be honest, I feel guilty about). Ah well. Mum said I should've posted this picture of me instead, so here it is:

Baby pic

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jun. 13, 2007 - 13:49:23

Oh I've had a good laugh looking at old photos. I came across my mum and dad looking like Barbie and Ken, I realised my sister's been nuts since she was born (but possibly the cutest baby ever), my cousin's always looked grumpy and mischievous, and my new sandals are like the ones I had when I was two. And let's not even go into the many styles of speedos I encountered...there's incriminating photos of pretty much every man in my family wearing them.

So, here's me:

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

by sweetymon @ Tuesday, Jun. 12, 2007 - 11:58:42

I'm not gonna say what happens in case I spoil it for you, but if you're a fan of Johnny Depp you should go see it... looooots of Johnny Depp in the film!! The ending wasn't exactly what I wanted to happen but nevermind. That's all I'm gonna say! It was a lovely night, had a laugh with the boy and finished a la classic romantic film, kissing under the fresh summer rain *sigh*

Now... *drumroll* I'm going to the 02 Wireless Music Festival in Leeds on friday! Woooo day trip and music, can't wait! Is my boyfriend the best or what?! Actually he's better, thanks to him we've got VIP tickets! :D

Buying, swapping and denying

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jun. 11, 2007 - 15:41:06

Hmm so the other day I went back to a shop to return a bikini and left with a new pair of shoes, because the difference in cash wasnt that big. Great financial skills, dont you think? My lecturers would be proud.

And loyalty cards are good too; I'm constantly getting vouchers from Boots for new moisturisers, not to mention the friendly letters saying "We've noticed that you're fond of our hair-removal range, here's a fiver to spend on facial-hair bleach". Oh Gosh, thanks!!!

Or Pontins; I stayed there in Prestatyn a couple of years ago and they're still sending me catalogues. When I phoned them and kindly asked them to stop wasting trees, the guy said "Well you could come with your husband and children this summer." And when I said I have neither, he said "Erm, well, is there anyone in your house who does?"

But my favourite, honestly, is The Body Shop. I went in there to buy a new foundation and my loyalty card allowed me to get a lovely scrub I could not stop sniffing, for free. And the lady was very helpful, telling me to buy the oil-free foundation to balance out my skin. Ah, what a sweetie.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna go look in a mirror with a magnifying glass to see if I can find any open pores.

Hello sunshine!

by sweetymon @ Monday, Jun. 11, 2007 - 10:03:54

Hurrah another sunny day! Until the age of fourteen I saw sunny days most of the year, but since that changed to about 2 weeks of sunshine a year, I reaaaally make the most of sunny days, and I love them! Soooo I'm off out to do some fun things such as read my second fab new book, walk, sit in my new secret place (because the former one is tainted and makes me feel miffy), and bask in the sunshine. And also some not-so-fun things, like perhaps join some job agencies and buy necessary goodies - pretty things nonetheless. I'm hoping that my new lifestyle will make me glow so much that I'll no longer need to wear makeup *laughs hysterically at herself*. Hey don't blame me, blame the evil state of the student economy; we work hard to be the heads of the country's future and what do we get? Not a penny, no respect and a freakin' huge debt, not to mention that most of us live on shitty food and have no money for entertainment other than getting pissed. Well I suppose that's somewhat optional, I mean, vegetables and fruit are hardly expensive. But anyway, screw that for now, I'm gonna go enjoy the sunshine! :>>

Have a nice day!!

Why are sundays so boring?

by sweetymon @ Sunday, Jun. 10, 2007 - 19:53:57

I woke up when I felt like it, in a good mood, feeling fresh and bright (must be the sun). Went shopping for some things to start my new lifestyle, i.e. vegan (almost completely, I mean, there are eggs and milk in crepe nutella! And meals with the already very understanding Gorgeous Boy are exempt from fussiness too.) and then went to the park to relish the sunshine, read a girly book and skip - I'm not kidding, I skipped in the middle of a park full of people with a pink and purple skipping cord; shame I didnt have the guts to take the red hula hoop (that smells like strawberries) too! So, bored to tears now as usual.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend and getting up tomorrow morning isn't too bad. :)

I wanna have your babies

by sweetymon @ Thursday, Jun. 07, 2007 - 17:42:35

I've just spent a fortune on my hair and it looks delicious, but I feel incredibly guilty and just not good about myself at all. Bloody conscience. I read something that kinda stuck with me earlier, it's out of The Bell Jar; it said "A million years of evolution and what are we? Animals." Isn't it just so true?!

On a much lovelier note, there was a lady trying to get on the bus with a pram this morning so I offered to help and she said...

"Erm, yeah, can you hold him for a minute?" And handed me her baby. 88|

I always feel like I'm gonna drop babies when I hold them, they're so squishy and especially because it's not mine, I don't wanna break it!!! But it was kinda nice holding this tiny thing that smelt like baby wipes; I even felt broody for a whole ten, maybe fifteen minutes.

Boo!

by sweetymon @ Wednesday, Jun. 06, 2007 - 01:17:48

I realise this is a slightly unorthodox time to make a comeback, but I've had too much sugar (in the form of jelly beans, or geleebonbons as they're called in German) and can't sleep sooo hello everyone!

Well I've done lunches and cocktails, shopping, parties, sunbathing, catching up with the girls, redecorating my room a little, gone for wanders around and now I'm back to pondering too much about what to do and ending up doing nothing - my summer is going great, albeit I worked my ass off hard for it. And the boy is back, as soon as I opened the door I dived into his arms - and it had nothing to do with the fact that he had pressies for me. I tell ya, the boy's thoughtful and has good taste. It's good to have him back. I missed him.

You'll be hearing from me soon, but for now night night sleepyheads. :zz:

A dream by Bernard Shaw

My spirits soar on high,
Inebriated with thoughts so pure.
I now can fly,
Nothing is obscure.
Spiritual healing is taking place,
As I rise to heavens realms.
Beams of joy cover my face,
Nothing can me overwhelm.
I have seen the heavens gates,
Beautiful light paves the way,
Music sweet to soul and ear,
I have nothing more to say.

Love,

Mon xx
